You see,

Everyone is rushing - - - beating deadlines, queue lines in the malls, stores, etc.

Not sparing anyone, including myself. . .

I'm with my wife going around shopping for "Christmas presents"
for loved ones, friends, clients, my postman ,our community garbage
collectors,etc.

AND,

what struck me the most,
is that "empty feeling of sending good cheers to all and affording
